Echo Chamber brings together two bodies of work by Marcus Gaab that explore identity, presence and self-referentiality within the performing arts. Through the lens of theatre and dance, the installation examines how the self emerges in the moment it encounters its own echo – through gesture, voice, movement and perception.
Across three parallel projections, each with independent image and sound, the installation creates a resonant field of overlapping realities. Film, language, bodies and sound unfold as a system of feedback loops in which identity is continuously reshaped. The viewer becomes physically implicated in this environment, positioned within the shifting interplay of roles, selves and performative presence.
